My decision to which high school I was going to attend was hard but in the end I know I made the right choice. My first choice was Foothill, second choice was Buena or Ventura. I had either to choose from, but my parents did not want me to go to Ventura at all. The minute they heard about Foothill, they said that it was the school for me. They said that if I didn’t get into Foothill I would attend Buena. Once I got into Foothill there was no way I could reject a once in a lifetime opportunity like this.
My first choice was Foothill, and if I didn’t get accepted then I was told by my parents that I would go to Buena even though Ventura is my boundary school. They did not want me to go to Ventura at all, I’m surprised they let me go there for Summer School. I’m a Cougar fan all the way! I’m beyond glad I got accepted to this school, or else I would be going to another school that doesn’t have good academics. Academics are my number one priority and I knew that I just had to come here to this school.
The discussion between me and my parents wasn’t that hard. I wanted to come here to Foothill & they wanted that for me as well. It was really up to me to what school to attend. They knew I would make the right choice and that I was responsible enough to make sure I chose the right school for me. I got the acceptance letter and we were both very happy that I got into the best school in Ventura. And that’s how simple my choice was made.
My heart and head were as confused as me. But I was still questioning myself to whether I should accept the offer or not. I wanted to go to Buena where all my friends would attend. But I had so much pressure on me, my parents wanted me to go to Foothill since I had already gotten accepted. I couldn’t imagine high school without my best friends, so I had to consider going to Foothill. But I knew that if I really wanted a good education like I had always planned, that FTHS was the school for me.
In the end, I decided to come here to FTHS. At first I was regretting my choice, because I did not safe without my friends. I was so close to transferring to Buena but my parents made me realize that I had to stay where I am at. Now I’m glad I didn’t transfer to Buena and now I absolutely love Foothill and I am completely satisfied with the environment I’m in. Now I’m looking forward to four amazing years here at Foothill Technology High School.
